Lion of Judah

The representation of the Lord Jesus as the Lion of the tribe of Judah has always been a symbol of great honor and reverence. It is a profound privilege as an artist to craft works of art that capture the essence of the King of Kings in his regal form, radiating strength, power, grace, and unparalleled beauty. Truly, our God is a mighty warrior whose glory knows no bounds.

As you view this gallery, our prayer is that the strength and majesty of the King that resides within you will open the revelation of who you are even more profoundly within you than you’ve ever known!

“Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed…”

– Revelation 5:5 (New King James Version)

Praise is indeed the strongest weapon in the universe, resonating with power that transcends all boundaries. Our Lord, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, manifests His presence in the midst of praises lifted by His people. Just as the tribes of Israel moved in unity - with Judah leading, followed by Issachar and Zebulun - praise paves the path for divine interventions and supernatural manifestations. The artwork Judah Goes First captures the profound impact of sound as it reverberates through creation, bringing about a transformation that transcends the physical realm.

The King is wearing the universe as a crown, symbolizing his sovereign rule and authority over all creation. This image captures the essence of the Lion of Judah, representing the majestic and powerful King of the Universe in all his glory. It is also a reference to another image that I’ve created depicting the Lion of Judah, King of the Universe – there is only one!

This image, Lion and Lamb Cross, is one of our most popular images, and I believe it’s because of the deep symbolism that the image speaks so loudly. At the forefront stands the Lamb, the ultimate sacrifice ordained from the very beginning of time, alongside the representation of the cross — the poignant emblem of love personified. The narrative harks back to the poignant lyrics of an old hymn, recounting the sacrificial act where He chose to bear the weight of the world's sins alone out of boundless love for humanity. It is a powerful visual reminder that though He first appeared as the sacrificial Lamb, the Scriptures also foretell His triumphant return as the conquering Lion of Judah. Indeed, this transformative truth is already unfolding as the Lion's fierce strength and regal majesty awaken within the hearts of His devoted followers.

This captivating theme is something that I’ve touched on in other images, such as Fire Woman, where the dwelling place of the Lion of Judah is depicted within the devoted worshipper's very being, symbolizing the intimate union between the divine and the faithful.

In this image, Among the Burning Ones, the Great Intercessor wears a crown of the universe upon His brow and a prayer shawl draped over His shoulders as He walks among the fiery intercessions burning from the hearts of intercessors worldwide. The prayer shawl itself is made up of the flags of every nation, woven with the prayers of His faithful servants.

Yes, the King of glory is walking among the burning ones as the worldwide movement of prayer brings to reality the prayer “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven,” as the Lord Himself instructed us to pray. One of the reasons worldwide darkness and corruption is being exposed is because of the light of the intercession.

As I am writing the description of this image now, I just had a revelation. Although I didn’t plan it that way, these two images – Among the Burning Ones and Breaks Every Chain – are intricately connected. It is the power of the saints on earth declaring the “it is finished” work of the King that the Lord moves through and breaks the chains of every oppressive system off of His people. As we worship Him, He roars “Let my people go” in response, thundering through the heavens and liberating the earth from its bondage.

I can hear my friend Kingsley Walker singing now, “There’s power in the name of Jesus to break every chain, break every chain” – that song was the inspiration for this image, and remains a powerful reminder today. This is what we must intercede for!

This image, King of Justice, depicts the Chief Justice of the universe at rest in the majesty of eternal justice. In our nation, we have seen those who have taken oaths to distribute justice fairly be poisoned by bribes and political affinity, to the extent that justice has been turned backwards in our land. As always, in every nation that turns from the justice and order of the King, this corrupted system of justice will be short-lived. The Lord Himself says that men are like blades of grass – as soon as the heat rises, they wilt and fade.

The imprint on His paw symbolizes the eternal price He paid. By suffering the greatest injustice, He brought the plumbline order of eternal justice into the earth once again. We are now in the time of the separation of the wheat and tares – those who will bow to the King of justice, or those who love the darkness of lawlessness more than the light of justice.

I created this image, Lioness of God, with a heart full of honor for those lionesses I have had the privilege of worshipping with through the years. These women have hearts of lions and are fierce in their attitude and stance protecting the honor of the King. They are like mothers whose child is in danger – you’ve never seen anything like it when the lid comes off!

Depicted here is a lioness, a part of the cavalry of the Lord, who is very skilled and at one in the movement atop the war horse on which she rides.

Lionesses of God everywhere, this image is created in honor of all that you are and all that you carry before the King you serve. He is using all of you, moment by moment, day by day to advance His kingdom in the earth.

In some strange fashion, these two images – Lioness of God and A Walk with the King – are connected as well. There was a song by Twila Paris that said, “Deep inside the armor, the warrior is a child.” The inspiration for this image was the playful dance of a little girl, without a care in the world, trustfully walking in the leadership of her King. She doesn’t know where the King is leading her, but as you can see by her carefree heart, she will enjoy that journey wherever the King leads.

At the same time, it’s refreshing to see the Lion of Judah at rest – there is time for war, but much like the Lion and the Lamb, there is time for rest. His tender guidance is all she needs. I pray that, as your eyes gaze on this image, that peace like a river will flood the core of all you are, and new joy will arise within you, as you take a walk with the king.

Although I created this image, Desire of the Nations, well over fifteen years ago (at the time of this writing), it remains as timeless as it was when it was first created. The Lion of the tribe of Judah, the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, carries the nations upon His shoulders as He walks on the waters of eternity, towering over the nations with the covenant rainbow of Father’s promise radiating beneath Him. He holds Israel, the first nation of nations, front and center over His heart.

The knowledge of the glory of the Lord shall cover the earth as the waters cover the sea. This is another one of my favorite images – my heart is moved every time I gaze upon it. Thank You, Father for allowing me to be a part of the creation of this image.
